The Administrative Bureau encompasses all command and administrative functions of the Matawan Police Department and consists of the following functional areas of responsibility:

- Executive Officer to the Chief of Police – Commander of Police Operations
- Police Licensing
- Recruiting and the selection process
- Purchasing
- Payroll and personnel records
- Information Technology
- Office of Professional Responsibility (Internal Affairs function)
